"Value of education :an interview with Mr. mayank Singh(Defence Journalist)"

Hey there, this is Ajay nigam with Prakant kumar, singing In here for an interview with Mr. Mayank singh, Defence Journalist ,to know his views on "The education in modern age".
Welcome Sir!!

Que:- Sir, what do you think about present scenario of education system in India?

Mr. Mayank :-  Education system is, in a way good but then definitely there is a huge, a lot of room   which requires improvement,in the sense that whatever is being taught, there has to be some kind of a practical connect with what you do in life, how you are going to use the information in day to day life. Having said that a student should be taught about everything in a way that he comprehends, he could understand by his own and like when, whatever is happening in his vicinity then he could understand that, Like there are stuffs in science, a teacher must taught him in a manner he could          grasp it easily. It's not necessary that every student must be strong in mathematics or it's also not necessary that each student must have that much knowledge of science that he should always talk about satellite, spacecraft, constellation and all those science related stuffs, but yes he must have that much knowledge, that if he is travelling in night he must know what the pole star is and how can he know his direction from that. Means to say that study must be use in a way that he can use it everyday life and it will also generate the interest among children. The thing to say is that education system is nice but there is a need of improvement which can arouse interest among children.

Que:- so sir,did you mean that you want a change?

Mr. Mayank:-  Yes!! definitely I want many changes, many relevant changes because there are       so many things we are not taught as a subject yet. let's take an example of Adventure,It is a stream that is evolving very rapidly and yes it has been started in some places too.peoples are changing...they also want to do something new, specially our youth. So,I think there are many more other similar things which we should create as subject. there must be different different types of games which should fall under the category of sports.Sports should be taught as-"Sports as a whole". Mountaineering is creating world records from past 50-60 years in our country but still has not been incorporated as sports...just think over it.

Que:- Recently Bihar election has finished and lalu's son tejaswi has became Deputy CM who is not    even 9th pass. So don't you think there must be an eligibility criteria to became a leader?

Mr. Mayank:-There must be a basic minimum eligibility criteria of education but I'm probably somewhere do not agree because I believe that education and intelligence are two different things. It is said that many such leaders were also there who were totally illiterate or some had some basic education but they had became a good, sensible and strong leader and it is not necessary that one who knows law & order, follows law & order.there is an importance of education but on the level of intellect we cannot assume that the one who is well educated must be well intelligent.if the candidate is educated, t's good but I do not believe there should be fixed Eligibility Criteria

Que:- We are spectating that the marketisation of education is on the peak. There are several colleges opening with small infrastructure too. So how harmful do you find this for education and for students?

Mr. Mayank:- education is becoming just like factory- "Subah factory khulti hai,log ghuste hain or factory band ho jaane par chamkadad ki tarah bahar nikalte hain". and the teacher-student connect have become so poor that dedication and devotion of teachers towards students has nearly ended which directly influence students. So marketisation is not good and government also have to think about this.A minimum basic standard must be followed for a teacher.overall, marketisation of education must be stopped.

Que:- We have witnessed many cases in which student wants to opt some course which is offbeat, like courses other than engineering and MBBS but parents wants them to opt engineering or mbbs. There are courses like media and others which is not well known by the parents but by the student and hence parents deny them to do so.what do you want to say over this?

Mr. Mayank:- you are saying right and this type of problem still exists,in modern days. there are many new courses are introduces in colleges like tourism management ,sports management and many more. look at the languages courses,if student opt for language course he/she become economically strong .they can be self dependent.yes there is a disconnect between parents and student but you cannot assume this final. There are fathers, who wake up early to drop their children to the ground for well being of their child's future. The best example for you is Saina Nehwal whose father himself was a government employee but he has helped his daughter completely and then there are 2 wrestler sisters well known as fogat sisters, their father had showed the same dedication. So look, society is changing rapidly and in a positive manner and it's good also. there must be freedom given to the student. so that he can do many things in multiple level.

Que:- An conclusion on this please...

Mr. Mayank:- Education is very necessary for everyone and changes are also necessary . By being educated we can do our own betterment. government or the officials must look over the issue of marketisation.
 thank you
