Delhi's Breathing acid, AQI Reached to severe high.

Air quality Index in different parts of India have reached to severe high which is causing health problems to masses. The AQI in Delhi is at the most severe level reaching to the dangerous level of 342 according to SAFAR. Delhi pollution levels have hit their worst this year earning a “severe” to “emergency” rating for the city’s air quality and indicating conditions that can spark a public health crisis. Senior government officials said the main reasons for the surge in the amount of toxic smog trapped over New Delhi were unusually cold air, including fog, and a lack of wind. This mean that vehicle fumes, pollution from coal-fired power plants and industries, as well as smoke from fires being burned to keep people warm hangs over the city. The air quality in the city of Pune has been deteriorating in the last few years, The air quality index(AQI) recorded on Wednesday morning was found to be 159 while the AQI last year on the same day was 46. This shows that the quality of air in the city has slipped from the ‘good’ benchmark to ‘satisfactory’ benchmark within a short period of one year. On Wednesday, system of air quality and weather forecasting and research (SAFAR) showed that most areas in the city had ‘satisfactory’ air quality but the air quality at Lohegaon was moderate with high presence of nitrogen dioxide. Mumbai's overall air quality remains a cause of concern. According to data of System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) which monitors Air Quality Index (AQI) at 10 stations in Mumbai on Wednesday was 236 making it in the 'Very Poor' category and is predicted to only go higher. However, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded as 274 classified as Poor.
