Water Scarcity in Amravati

The water scarcity situation in the region has started increasing day by day. Now, 29 villages of Amravati and Buldhana districts are being supplied with water to the tanks and they are not adequate. Since the animals are not supplied with drinking water, citizens of some villages in Buldhana have started preparing for migrations. The administration said that 2146 villages in the second phase of January to March are scarcity-hit. 973 and 629 villages in Amravati and Buldhana districts respectively are scarcely afflicted. Tanker is supplying water to one of the 28 villages in Amravati district and Buldana. The tanker comes in the village one day a week. Thanh is not as cheap as it is in comparison to the population. There is no water to drink, no matter where the animals should be provided, the villagers have fallen into question. The wells, rivers, drains and dams in the area have come down, and reservoirs are also getting reduced rapidly. Water conservation has been completed in three mediums and 55 small projects with a large dam. The villagers are of the opinion that although the administration has started a complementary scheme, they are not adequate. Due to shortage of water, citizens have come under migrant mentality.
